1. Scope
This Policy explains how Hours in Order (“Hours in Order,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles personal information through our website, accounts, desktop and mobile apps, paid services, support channels and connected features.
Your local workspace is separate from your account. Creating an account does not automatically upload your projects, time blocks, trackers or notes.
2. Information we collect
Local workspace data
On the Free plan, project content, time blocks, trackers, item pages and notes are stored in the app’s database on your device. We do not receive that content merely because you create an account or use the local app.
Account information
When you create an account, we process your email address, account identifier, authentication status and security information needed to operate sign-in. Password authentication is handled by our authentication provider; we do not store your plain-text password.
Plan and payment information
For Pro, we expect to keep your plan, subscription status, renewal date and payment-provider customer identifiers. Stripe will process card and billing details. Hours in Order will not receive your full card number.
Cloud sync content
If you enable Pro sync, we process the workspace records you select or create while sync is enabled so that they can be stored, backed up and synchronized across your devices. Sync will be off until you choose to enable it.
Calendar connections
If you connect a calendar, we process authorization tokens and the event information needed to show or update the calendars you choose. The permission screen will show the requested access before you connect.
AI requests
If you choose an AI feature, we process the instructions and workspace context you deliberately submit for that request. AI features will be clearly marked and will not silently read the rest of your local workspace.
Website, security and support information
Cloudflare Turnstile processes technical signals needed to distinguish legitimate account creation from automated abuse. Our providers may also process standard security and diagnostic data such as IP address, browser or app version, timestamps, request logs and crash information. If you contact us, we receive your message and the information you choose to include.
3. How we use information
- create and secure accounts;
- provide authenticated app downloads;
- operate plans, subscriptions, cloud sync and connected features;
- process support requests and service messages;
- prevent abuse, diagnose failures and protect the service;
- comply with legal obligations; and
- improve the product using aggregated or de-identified information where practical.
Where applicable, our legal bases include performing our contract with you, complying with law, our legitimate interests in running and securing the service, and your consent for optional connections or processing where consent is required.
5. Retention
Local workspace data remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app, subject to backups you control. We keep account and subscription records while your account is active and for a limited period afterward when needed for security, legal, tax, dispute or recovery purposes. Support and security logs are kept only as long as reasonably necessary for those purposes. Final retention periods will be published before launch.
6. Security
We use administrative, technical and organizational safeguards designed for the information we process, including encrypted transport, access controls, restricted server credentials and authentication checks for downloads and paid features. No system is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security.
7. Your choices and rights
You can keep workspace content local, choose whether to enable sync, disconnect calendars, decide what to send to AI features, cancel Pro and request account deletion. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to or export personal information, and to complain to a data-protection authority.
Deleting an online account does not automatically delete copies of local workspace data stored on your devices. You control those local copies through the app or device.
8. International processing
Our service providers may process information in countries other than your own. Before launch, this section will identify the relevant locations and transfer safeguards for the final service configuration.
9. Children
Hours in Order is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. A higher minimum age may apply in some countries. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us.
10. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy as the product changes. We will post the new date and provide additional notice when a change is material or when law requires it.
11. Contact
Questions, privacy requests and deletion requests can be sent to hello@hoursinorder.com. The final legal entity and postal address will be added before public launch.
